How the heck is it almost Christmas??? Seems like just yesterday we were pouring sweat and sound-checking at Skipper’s in the moist Florida heat. Speaking of Florida, in case we haven’t adequately expressed our undying gratitude… THANK YOU FLORIDA FAM! Y’all showed up and showed out at both shows and we cannot thank you enough. We feel so much love. Special thanks to everyone who made that epic afterparty possible! The Tampa area definitely feels like a second home to us and we can’t wait to get back down there and party with y’all again (big announcements about when that’s going to be coming very soon!).
We also want to thank our hometown Atlanta family for coming out to celebrate with us at the Hunt House and again at Tree Sound Studios. It’s such an honor and a blessing to be able to share our music with you and to feel the energy that swirls in those rooms. We may be the ones up on stage, but the magic flows both ways. You always come ready to get down and you feed us that vibe so we can reflect it back to you. That’s the special sauce.
Hootenanny!!!
HOOTENANNY! Oh my! We are beside ourselves over the opportunity to play at such an amazing and beloved Atlanta event. Huge thanks to Tdawg Presents for inviting us to kick off the evening at the 12th Annual Holiday Hootenanny! We’re humbled to be sharing the stage this Sunday, December 17th with some absolute juggernauts of the music scene including Kevin Scott of Gov’t Mule, John Mailander (Mailander’s Forecast, Bruce Hornsby, Billy Strings), and Peter Stroud (Sheryl Crow, Sarah McLachlan). We’ll also be surrounded by our beautiful ATL family including Rev. Jeff Mosier, Tyler Neal, and our sweet traveler finally returning to us, Ian Klin.
This show is always a fan favorite with unrehearsed jams that can soar into some of the most free-flowing, beautiful renditions of songs ranging from well-worn covers to Atlanta family originals. Don’t miss this one-of-a-kind evening! And get your tickets now. You save a ton by getting them in advance! Doors at 6 and Aints get the party started at 7.
Upcoming Shows
As we get ready to say farewell to 2023, we’ve already got our sights set on some exciting plans for 2024. We’ll be traveling a lot more next year, and our first destination is the Carolinas! We’ll be at Golden Grove Farm and Brew in Piedmont, SC on Friday, January 26, and then we head straight on up to Charlotte to play Smokey Joe’s on Saturday, January 27. It’s always a sweet homecoming to play Charlotte as Arrie and Barb both lived there for a while and we miss our friends! There are sure to be some special guests joining us that night. Friday at Golden Grove will be our first non-festival SC show in years, so hit up your greater Greenville area friends and send them our way! We’d love to build up a scene there and make Piedmont a regular stop on our travels.
We kick February off with a very special show as we make our first Athens, GA appearance with our current lineup, and we’re bringing our music daddy, the incomparable Mr. Ralph Roddenbery, with us to get the night off to beautiful, weird, hilarious, moving start. There will surely be some family jams at the end of the evening! Tickets are already on sale for this one and you’re gonna wanna snatch some up while you can. We have every intention of packing it in and blowing the roof off Hendershot’s!
Atomic Updates
Last week we had another batch of studio sessions at Dragonsong Productions and we wrapped up the last of the scratch tracks for the Atomic double vinyl release. That means the drums are DONE! Of course, we’re absolutely certain that Richie will sneak back in with a percussion setup and add all kinds of flavor.
Next up, our sweet baby boy, Justin Boudreau a.k.a. Boo Bear a.k.a. Boudreamy, will be going in to lay down the final bass tracks and finish creating the tremendously fire rhythm section so that Arrie and Barb can get to work building sexy layers of guitar. Ben Hernandez has been a dream engineer. He just bounced the last few scratch tracks to us today and for real… these monsters are bangin’.
Holiday Shopping?
Just in time for cold weather and holiday shopping, we’ve got brand new logo hoodies! You can grab one in person at a show or order one from our new bona fide official mercantile over at Bonfire. We’re working on getting some Shake Your Taint gear up online, but for now, those are only available at the merch booth. We’ve also got some incredibly blasphemous anti-prayer candles that you’ll have to come find us to acquire. In the meantime, check out the new options for logo merch on Bonfire.
Heart-full Holiday Wishes
As always, but at this time of year more than ever, we are unspeakably grateful for your love and support. Because of you, we get to do what we love and keep spreading this message of connection and fun. We hope you and yours have a safe, joy-filled holiday season marked by waves of immense gratitude that we get to be alive and feel the sun on our faces, that we have each other, and that we have been brought together with so many other beautiful souls to experience communion and music as one big, beautiful family. Happy holidays! See you at the Hoot!
And now for your moment of zen…
Thank the Godess for dogs 😍
